Why I built Kinovy
Living with a chronic condition means spending a lot of time explaining yourself: to doctors, to family, to yourself on the bad days. You fill out forms, you try to remember when the pain started, you guess at what made this week harder than last week. And then you go home and feel alone with it.
I looked for an app that could help me notice patterns without making me feel like a patient. I wanted something that felt like a quiet notebook, not a clinical dashboard. I wanted to be able to say "today was hard" without filling in fifteen fields. And I wanted to find other people who understood - not because they had read a pamphlet, but because they lived it too.
I didn't find what I was looking for. So I built it.
A kinder place for hard days - that is the only design brief Kinovy has ever had.
What Kinovy is not
Kinovy is not a replacement for doctors or therapists. It does not give medical advice, diagnose anything, or suggest treatments. If something in your data concerns you, please talk to a professional.
It is not a data business. There are no ads. Your check-in data lives on your device and goes nowhere unless you choose to back it up. We do not sell anything about you, ever. The anonymous, aggregated statistics we see (with your permission) are used only to make the app better - never sold, never shared with third parties.
It is not cold. Every small decision in the app - the words we use, the questions we ask, the way hard days are treated the same as good ones - is made with the same question: would this feel kind to someone who is already tired?
What Kinovy tries to be
A gentle daily check-in that takes under two minutes. A way to notice, over time, what helps and what doesn't - without anyone telling you what your data means. A community where people post under soft, app-given names, talk honestly about hard days, and share the small things that help. A place you can open on a bad morning and not feel worse for it.
It is free. It always will be. The core of Kinovy - the check-in, the community, the history - will never sit behind a paywall, and there will never be ads. The app is funded by people who want to support it, nothing else.
You deserve a place that is on your side - not just tracking you.
Where we are now
Kinovy is in early testing. A small group of people is using it every day and their feedback is shaping everything. If you are living with a chronic condition and want to be part of that, I would love to have you.
